Like so many people around the world, I’ve fallen deep into the Bridgerton rabbit hole this past month. But as much as I enjoyed watching the slow burn between Penelope and Colin (aka Polin) finally come to a head in season three of the popular Netflix series, it’s the off-screen relationship between the two leads, Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton (aka Lukola) that I can’t stop thinking about.
Since the day after I finished part two of the season, my social media feed has been dripping with behind the scenes footage and moments from their six-month promotion tour around the world along with some hilarious fan edits. Hours of bingeing these clips and reading about the collective delulu we’ve all been experiencing around their relationship has left me feeling what fans have described as a “Polin hangover”—enjoyable in the moment, but leaving you feeling like shit the next day.
